Dana Baione, MetLife Fellow

dana-baioneDana Baione has done field research for the last three years.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary with a degree in Hispanic Studies as well as Elementary Education.

Dana earned her Master of Education from George Mason University.

She has experience teaching first, second and third grade.

Research Title: Is Lesson Study an effective form of Staff Development? Research Year: 2009 Research Classification: Professional Development  Research Summary: Completed 2 cycle of Lesson Study–Dec 2008 and Mar 2009–focused on Math Lesson study steps: Study, Plan, Conduct Lesson & Collect Data, Reflect 1st cycle–number sense 2nd cycle–2 digit addition  All teacher participants changed teaching and planning approach as a result of the Lesson Study.

Research Title: Everyday Problem Solving in our Classrooms Research Year: 2008 Research Classification: Student Support/Enrichment Research Summary: This project was designed to aid teachers in coaching students to become active, more confidant, problem solvers in the classroom.

Research Title: Personal Journaling Research Year: 2007 Research Classification: Student Support/Enrichment Research Summary: Providing students with personal journals used for free writing and reflection,  fostered student self-awareness while improving writing fluency as well as student-parent conversations.
